A friend from California came to visit me at my home in Two Rivers. It was her first time to Wisconsin. Upon her arrival, I gave her a tour of the local area including a stroll along the Mariner’s Trail that hugs the Lake Michigan shoreline. The lake was calm that day, no waves at all. It was chilly, but my friend wanted to put her toes in the water so we ventured off the paved trail and walked down to the sandy beach.
